Infrastructure Ontario – Trillium Park and William G. Davis Waterfront Trail

Project details

  • Client: Infrastructure Ontario
  • Type: Construction Management
  • Address: Ontario Place, Toronto, ON
  • Size: 7.5 acres

Project description

Infrastructure Ontario selected Urbacon to lead the construction of the new urban park and waterfront trail, the first phase of redevelopment at Ontario Place. Located along a portion of the east island, the 7.5-acre park and trail transform a section of Ontario Place which was previously used for parking. The trail links to the existing waterfront trail system. This new space unlocks a section of Toronto’s waterfront that has been gated to the public for more than 40 years.

Urbacon, led the park and trail project, purchased materials from within Ontario, allowing us to support the use of local resources and reduce the environmental impacts resulting from transportation. The design of the park is inspired by Ontario landscapes and is the culmination of discussions with people from across Ontario, including the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. Trillium Park and the William G. Davis Trail is a step in transforming Ontario Place into a vibrant year-round waterfront destination.
