Premier Kathleen Wynne and Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, were at Ontario Place to officially open the new Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail to the public. In 2015, Infrastructure Ontario selected Urbacon to lead the construction of the new urban park and waterfront trail, the first phase of redevelopment at Ontario Place.
The design of the park is inspired by Ontario landscapes and is the culmination of discussions with people from across Ontario. In keeping with this theme, Urbacon, purchased materials from within Ontario, supporting the use of local resources and reducing the environmental impacts resulting from transportation. The park features, traditional First Nation navigation tree markers, a fire pit, a pavilion and washroom facilities.
