CTV Eaton Centre Studios

As Construction Manager, Urbacon built a modern broadcast facility with 65,000 SF on four floors in the middle tower of the Eaton Centre. A control centre and recording rooms were constructed on the ground floor for the CTV Eaton Centre Studios. The construction of the master control, production and broadcast areas involved opening a 1,200 SF cut between the 17th and 18th floors. NC 14 sound rated studios were designed and constructed in eight weeks. The complex included recording studios, CTV’s boardroom, a computer facility, control rooms, edit suites, support spaces, training room, lunchroom, the installation of a staircase connecting three floors and satellite dishes onto the roof of the building.
